FAQs
JettProof Calming Sensory Clothing can assist children and adults with Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, Asperger Syndrome, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Apraxia, Dyspraxia, ADHD and Anxiety.
JettProof helps children to regulate their body, to stay calm and focused. JettProof helps minimise meltdowns and aids in social situations. Correct sizing is important as JettProof needs to provide sensory compression to the muscles to work effectively.
How does JettProof work?
JettProof provides the perfect dose of sensory input to help calm, soothe and support self-regulation. JettProof also provides proprioceptive input which is organising and regulating for the nervous system. JettProof aids in filtering sensory information to improve the ability to listen and learn.
** Correct sizing is important. Please check our sizing chart
** Please ensure the JettProof logo is worn on the outside of the clothing, so the main stitching is away from the child’s skin.
What types of JettProof clothing could help my child?
JettProof Singlet and Shirts provide a gentle ‘hug’ around the chest, shoulders and torso. This has a calming effect and also provides proprioceptive input which is organising and regulating for the nervous system.
JettProof long sleeved Shirts work as the short sleeved shirts, and also provide gentle compression to the lower arms.
JettProof Shorts provide sensory compression, so a child can sit and listen much more easily. They are especially useful for children who ‘wriggle’ or fall off chairs, or who feel the need to fall to the ground. JettProof shorts can also help with body awareness – some have had more positive toilet training experiences.
JettProof Leggings work as JettProof Shorts (see above), and also provide gentle compression to the lower legs.
JettProof Suits (sleeveless or short sleeves) are designed to deter children from accessing their nappies. The suits are also helpful if a child undresses constantly. The specially designed closure makes it difficult for the child to open, while allowing carers to easily open for nappy changing. The JettProof suit with sleeves is more difficult for the ‘Houdini’ child to take off.

** Please ensure the JettProof logo is worn on the outside of the clothing, so the main stitching is away from the child’s skin.
Can JettProof be worn to bed?
Many children wear a JettProof compression singlet under their pyjamas at night (or a JettProof shirt with regular pyjama pants). Children with sensory difficulties often wake, searching for sensory input – JettProof can help them settle and stay asleep throughout the night. For children who access their nappy, JettProof suits have a specially designed closure to deter wandering hands but allow easy access for the carer to change nappies.
** Please ensure the JettProof logo is worn on the outside of the clothing, so the main stitching is away from the child’s skin.
Can JettProof be worn all day, every day?
Best results are achieved by wearing JettProof clothing and undergarments all day, every day. Children don’t build a resistance to JettProof clothing, whereas they can only wear weighted clothing for a limited time each day. JettProof is a popular choice for Occupational Therapists’ clients because JettProof provides calming gentle sensory compression all day, every day.
** Please ensure the JettProof logo is worn on the outside of the clothing, so the main stitching is away from the child’s skin.
Do all children feel comfortable in JettProof clothing?
Almost all children like the feeling of wearing JettProof immediately, however some children will take up to 2 days to get used to the sensation as they aren’t accustomed to feeling regulated. JettProof clothing has special external stitching for a seamless feel and no tags (for children with tactile sensitivity). Children can wear JettProof under their favourite clothing and school uniform. Once the child is accustomed to wearing JettProof they may even crave the calming sensation.
** After washing, please ensure the JettProof logo is worn on the outside of the clothing, so the main stitching is away from the child’s skin.
